Options

Do you like having options? in schooling particular.

Even before being pregnant with my son, I thought a lot about schooling in general.

I went to normal schools till the end of junior highscool and then started a special music course in a private high school. the curriculum of this course was very much designed for the students to be going to conservatrium so we did not have a lot of normal subjects you would which back then was a wonderful thing for me because I know what I wanted to do, somehow use music as my life career.

I do regret not given the opportunities to study more math or science in school set up in fact now.

My world could have been much bigger but who knows?

Through my travels I met some people who did part home schooling, full time home schooling, non schooling and I imagined what I would do if I had a child/children. Public school, private School, home schooling, unschooling and now I heard this word de-schooling. Us as adults how “we” received the education might not be the way of studying your child/children would like to or are capable of.

Some do not like the big group study environment. Some might just find it difficult with all the noise.

Some might be too smart and get distracted and some might just love it so much!

Learning about different schooling never bores me for I can share the info for whoever might need it.

I have just started teaching at a College where young people come in wearing no uniform but whatever feels comfortable and campus has a lot of light, air and open feel.

New room is set up and it is a “music room” Today the room had most people playing instruments apparently and that made me happy.

I like having choices in schooling.

This page has some alternative schools. Also there is this school I heard about this year.

I am not sure how long this teaching keep going. I suppose that is depending on demand from students as well as how I keep them inspired and motivated but for now, I am really happy that I have this opportunity to be teaching at the college. I am very grateful.
