Ichiko's Concert 2
The first one, I called it ( the previous writing) feels more like “intro” of a music.
My experience is still beyond the words but I keep trying to write for no particular reasons..
and again, I am crying.
Dawn in the Adan started slowly, was nothing like any version I heard on band camp, I mean she is on the stage on her own so of course it won’t sound like the original recording or the one in London with string ensemble, what was I expecting.
She speeds up for the second verse that was more like the original version but here and there she arranges and plays like her guitar is part of her body, incredible. I was shivering.
After that in between Dawn in the adan and Umibe no souretsu someone in the ground level seating kicks a beer bottle and I was brought back to the reality otherwise I was gone somewhere in my dream ?
Ichiko also plays a note that does not belong to the song but she keeps going and plays to make everything was fine. All that is probably improvised anyway and she plays so well. “well” as in it is her.
After Umibe no Soretsu, she plays a bit of phrase from Tsuki no oka and I get so overwhelmed just by that I knew she was going to play Tsuki no Oka.
For a long time I watched Ichiko singing this song on youtube ( I do not often watch youtube though) , kept wanting to hear her sing in real life so long and she was there singing this song live. It seems silly because it is not impossible for me to go and see gigs while I visit home, Japan and I have done that many times but after Covid, I feel a lot more special to be able to get to see someone playing especially when artists are coming from overseas.
kira kira…..and continue….
